It’s all about optimization!

BuildIn3D provides a SaaS for visualizing assembly instructions and optimizing the assembly process. Instructions are digitized and one assembly instruction is visualized as printed on paper, in an excel, online as a step-by-step tasks, PDF, animated and interactive 3D and even VR/AR for all the different environments where instructions are needed.

Business Cases

Manufacturing could address the following business cases with BuildIn3D

Reduce time to generate client reports

Preparing reports and check sheets manually is a tedious and time consuming task. BuildIn3D digitizes the assembly process, tracks and records field workers progress, and records information about the quality assurance steps. Client reports are automatically generated with all the required information.

Increase throughput of the assembly process

BuildIn3D digitizes and visualizes in a clear and easy to follow way the whole assembly process and makes it easier for field workers to follow the assembly instructions. It reduces frustration and increases productivity. BuildIn3d also stores all the information about the assembly process and this data helps in identify and prioritize areas of improvements where further investments should be made.

Reduce time for root cause analysis

Quickly identifying who, when and how did the assembly, what quality assurance steps followed the assembly and with what results is difficult and time consuming. BuildIn3D stores records of all the steps during the assembly process in an easy to access platform to search and visualize.

Reduce engineering work for preparing instructions

Preparing assembly instructions as steps on paper, in 3D or for VR/AR is a time consuming and tedious process. Once prepared it is difficult to add iterative improvements and changes to the instructions. BuildIn3D makes it easy to generate much of the instructions using our proprietary AI model trained over thousands of instructions.

Reduce time for on-boarding of new employees

It takes time for new employees to learn all the steps for all the assemblies in the correct order and to learn how to read complex engineering drawings. With BuildIn3D the information is visual in an easy to understand format. 8 years old students could assemble 400-600 steps robots on their own without errors.

Increase external funding from digitization and innovation programs

BuildIn3D is a great innovation and the next logical step in digitization of assembly instructions and assembly processes. The problems addressed by the platform are well understood as problems and the existence of the platform makes it easy to get external funding to address them.

Reduce communication overhead

A step or a part of the assembly process is not clear, was recently changed or this device was not assembled lately and a new order has arrived. BuildIn3D provides the easiest way to reduce this communication overhead. Engineers change the instruction at a single place and all users, even on different continents see the update instantly.

Reduce loss of critical know-how

Key employees that have been working on specific parts of the assembly process leave the organization. Their know-how about the assembly process is lost and this costs a lot. With BuilldIn3D it takes minutes to record and preserve this knowledge in an iterative, lean process.

Reduce time for replication/outsourcing of the assembly process

When the assembly process should be replicated/outsourced/delegated to a different team, factory or third party, or sometimes even in a different country, this could span over weeks or months and cost a lot of resources. With BuildIn3D replicating the process is as easy as providing a new username and password to the new team members.

What kind of machines/Devices could be visualized?

All kinds. We’ve handled machines with 2-3 simple steps and machines with 11,484 steps (although we do not recommend to have an instruction with 11K steps). Here are a few examples.

What kind of assembly processes is it worth digitizing and optimizing?

Assembly instructions are increasingly useful for assembly processes where more than 5-6 operations are performed by a single person on a single working station.

Some assembly processes can be automated with robots where robots handle part of the process and other parts are handled by humans. BuildIn3D could keep the program for the robots as part of the assembly process and the assembly instructions for this device. For steps that are further automated by robots it is much easier to develop the robotics programs once there are clear instructions of the device should be assembled by humans.

Pricing

Pricing is based on the number of users per month, features that are used, cloud and on-premise solutions, the type of devices, do you already have instructions or not and many more. We need to discuss it together.

Client use case

We digitize and optimize the internal assembly process for electrical cabinets at AQ. We make on-boarding new field workers easier and faster. We automate tracking, reporting, confirmations and quality assurance.

What the industry needs?

BuildIn3D provides a lot of different features to optimize different aspects of manufacturing processes. You could find all of them on our Features page. Here are a few of the features we think are useful for Manufacturing platforms.

SolidWorks support

You have 16, 000 SolidWorks files? Not a problem. It would take some time and we can handle them all.

You can use configurations & patterns and all you have to do is add “IS-STEP XXX” folders in the Feature Manager to mark the start of each step.

SIGN UP & UPLOAD

Part lists & Bill of Materials pictures for every instruction

An instruction could have hundreds of parts. Catalog numbers and names, although very specific are often not human readable. A picture on the other hand is exactly what a worker needs. BuildIn3D will automatically render a picture of each part to make it crystal clear which is the specific part and will shown the number of parts that are required on each step.

See it live

Easy collection of detailed statistics

How fast is a machine & devise assembled? What are the most difficult steps in the process? Which steps take longer. How could they be identified and fixed? Asking, and answering, these questions are the last 5% that bring the competitive advantage in the process.

BuildIn3D recorders how each assembly instruction is followed and reports this to manager responsible for the process and engineers responsible for designing the models.

Assembly instructions done right. Finally!

You just need to order the steps and rotate the camera to see each step from the correct angle. Configuring the camera rotation for 50 steps could be done in 3 minutes thanks to the Instructions Steps (IS) Editor. You can also update a the order of the steps or angle from which it is shown and all users will instantly see the new version.

How to start?

We can help with preparing the instructions or use the already existing once and integrated with most software and existing solutions.
